Our Fabrics

If we can choose from so many fabrics for what we wear outside, why shouldn’t we do the same for what we wear at home?

For us, comfort is the starting point.

Like baristas blind-tasting coffee beans, we approach fabrics by setting aside what we think we know. We handle and compare materials without focusing on fibre names, allowing the skin to respond first. This instinctive step helps us recognise what truly feels soft, breathable, and right against the body.

It is a simple beginning, but an important one.

Below, you will find the materials we work with — and why each one earned its place.

Acetate

Polished in appearance, gentle in wear.

Acetate is a refined fibre derived from plant-based cellulose, valued for its smooth surface and luminous finish. It offers a silk-like appearance with a clean drape and a lighter, breathable feel — balancing elegance with everyday wearability.

On the body, Acetate feels cool and fluid, holding its shape while remaining softly responsive to movement. Its subtle sheen and defined drape create structure without stiffness, supporting a composed, polished look that remains comfortable over time.

Cupro

Breathable like cotton, fluid like silk.

Cupro is one of Moonora’s signature fibres for sleepwear and loungewear, regenerated from cotton linter and valued for its fluid drape and silk-like smoothness.

Exceptionally smooth and weightless on the skin, Cupro drapes with the body rather than sitting on it. Naturally breathable and anti-static, it supports ease of movement and extended comfort with a fluid, effortless feel.

Due to its lightweight nature, gentle creasing may appear through wear. With light steaming or low-temperature ironing, it returns smoothly to form.

Cotton

Grounded comfort, naturally familiar.

Cotton is a natural fibre chosen for its breathability and dependable comfort. Its feel is uncomplicated and steady — familiar from the first wear and reliable over time.

On the body, cotton feels soft yet structured, allowing air to circulate while maintaining gentle shape. It adapts easily to daily movement and rest, offering consistent comfort without effort.

Lyocell

Naturally soft,responsibly made.

Lyocell is derived from sustainably sourced wood pulp and produced through a closed-loop process designed to reduce environmental impact. It is valued for its balance of comfort, breathability and lasting freshness.

On the skin, it feels smooth, cool and breathable, helping keep a fresh, comfortable feel throughout the day. Its fluid texture maintains a light, fresh feel during extended wear.

Modal

Softness, made easy.

Modal is a plant-based fibre valued for its exceptional softness and fluid drape. Compared to traditional cotton, it offers a smoother surface and a softer, more lightweight feel.

On the body, modal feels gentle, breathable and naturally elastic. It moves with you rather than against you, supporting ease throughout the day.

Designed for everyday wear, its softness remains consistent and comfortable over time.

Wool

Warm, breathable.

Wool is a natural fibre valued for the way it brings warmth without feeling heavy. Soft to the touch and breathable in wear, it offers a comfortable balance between insulation and ease. Wool fibres can absorb moisture vapour and release it into the air, which is one reason wool garments feel less clammy and more comfortable over time.

On the body, wool feels warm yet airy, adapting well across changing conditions while maintaining a dry, comfortable feel. Its natural crimp also helps create light insulation, allowing it to retain warmth without sacrificing breathability.
